Annual meeting of the Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC) was held in Petrozavodsk on April 23-26. The meeting was attended by representatives of all Barents countries – Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Finland. Arkhangelsk region was represented by a NArFU student Maria Kiryukh.

Agenda of the meeting covered topical issues of cooperation within BRYC and BEAR. The participants also delivered reports on international events in the Barents region, and adopted a draft version of a new Barents regional youth programme.

The programme tells about youth cooperation development in the Barents region, its aims and priorities by 2018. The draft has already been reviewed and endorsed at the BEAC Joint Working Group on Youth meeting on March 18, 2015. At that meeting the Arkhangelsk region was represented by the Arkhangelsk Region Minister on Youth Affairs and Sport Ms Elena Dotsenko.

The participants also intend to discuss organizational issues of the annual international Barents youth forum to be held in Finland in November this year.
