International Cultural Center (ICC) in the exhibition hall of the Arkhangelsk office of the Union of Russian Artists marks its first anniversary.

The idea to create an ICC was supported by the RF Ministry of Culture: under the target programme “Culture of Russia” the project has received grant support of RUB 2.4 mln.

In the last year the ICC together with the Arkhangelsk Region Ministry of Culture has organized such huge events as the forum “Contemporary Art in the European North”, and festival of contemporary art “City-Canvas”. More than 10 artists from Russia, Norway, Finland and Germany participated in the art exchange programme.

International art exchange programmes and joint cultural projects have reached a new level. They were implemented under the Arkhangelsk region Chairmanship in the Barents Regional Council and Regional Committee, and the Arkhangelsk Region Ministry of Culture chairmanship in the BEAC Joint Working Group on Culture in 2013-2015.
