A wide-area historical and cultural tourist project “Silver Necklace of Russia” was discussed in Vologda.

The aim of the project is to create a catalogue of branded tourist routes. The emphasis is on historical, cultural and educational tourism.

The project consists of several interconnected ‘radii’ that allow tourists to plan their trips in the most convenient way.

Head of the Arkhangelsk Region Agency for Tourism and International Cooperation Svetlana Zenovskaya suggested including the Solovetsky archipelago, Arkhangelsk – the city of military glory, Kargopol city-museum, the home of Mother Winter – Yarensk, and the territory of active leisure Ustyany into the project.

— Participation of the Arkhangelsk region in the “Silver Necklace of Russia” project promotes region awareness in the Russian and international tourist markets, and facilitates new interesting high-quality interregional tourist routes, – Svetlana Zenovskaya commented.
